Creepy Experience Thread (page 44)

My dads old house in Cincinnati used to be haunted as fuck, some of the stories my step brother told me were the worst, but 2 things happened while I was there, and I'm so relieved he moved to Dallas

First, the basement was scary as fuck, it had all pull string lights, and was sectioned off with 4 different sections, all concrete walls/floors, always cold all year, no one went down there often. At night, stuff we had stored would always fall randomly, when it was in a position that it was safely stored. Whenever it happened, the cat they had would freak out, and the fur on it's tail would puff out and it's eyes would get huge. The steps are wooden and hollow, so you know when someone is walking up or down them. One day around lunchtime, me and my step brother were home alone watching TV. The basement door is held by a doorstopper, so the cat can get to the food/liter box, and it's the kinda door you pull towards you to open. We had the a/c on, so all the windows were closed, no wind circulating the house to cause this. All of a sudden, we heard intense footsteps going up the basement steps, as if it was running, and the door slams realllllyyy loud. We sit there, freaking out, finally we go check it out. The doorstopper is just on hte floor where it was, and the door was closed, and there was weird noises in the basement. To be honest, I cannot explain what they sounded like, cause I don't know. We ran out of the house, got in his car, and left for the day, and didn't come back until someone was home.

Then a couple month's later, my step sister was getting ready to go to work in her room, and she was drying her hair, with her door closed, and her dog was in her room. My step mom was making dinner, and me and my step brother were watching TV, and the cat next to us was sleeping, and my dad was on his way home from work, so no one else could have done this. My step sister yells down to my step mom asking to bring up her hair brush, which was on a end table in the hallway leading to the steps, and she was cooking so she couldn't at the moment, and told her to hold on. Her back in turned to the hallway, so she couldn't see what was going on. At the same moment, the cat wakes up, freaks out and runs to the laundry room, and the dog in my step sisters starts barking realllyy loudly, but it was at the same second the cat wakes up, so then something had to had happen. A couple seconds later my step sister calls down "Thanks!" and my step mom asks for what? She looks back and the hair brush is gone. She calls her downstairs to see what's up. Apparently there was a light knock on the door, and the hairbrush was in the corner of the hallway, right by her door. If we were all occupied, how did it get up there?

Random shit used to happen all the time, the TV would turn off randomly, lights would turn off and on late at night, and the noise I mentioned above that I can't describe would be heard in the basement late at night. He moved out last summer, and nothing has happened in his new house since.

This is a good one. I believe it. Besides user spinal remains' post about his disorder or whatever, this is the 2nd most creepy and believable.
You say you cant describe the noise you heard in the basement, but is there ANYTHING you could compare it to? youve got me really intrigued.

I know just what you're talking about. I've actually wondered about this before and which movie it originally came from, and it's used just as often if not more than the Wilhelm scream. It comes in around :10 second mark in this video, right?

I've been wrestling with my 'beliefs' lately. Well, skepticism, I guess. I've always been skeptical but open to the idea of ghosts, etc., but lately it's just so obviously unreal I can't get into it anymore. I've been more into aliens, etc., because I actually believe in the possibility, but I still do not believe that we've been visited. I'm bummed.

I flipped through the pictures and thought whatever just a weird coincidence, and i walked down the back staircase in my house by my grandma's old room and got the worst chills.

This reminded me of something. My Papa died last April, the day after I found out about his death I was looking through a box full of hundreds of pictures so that I could just look at some of him and I.
Sitting on top of ALL the pictures was a little note that said,
"Brina, I love you. Tell Mommy I love her too. Love Papa"
He hasn't written me a note like that in at least 9 years.
I try to think realistically about this, I don't know if I saved it a long time ago and somehow it got to the top of the box or what, but it weirded me out.
It made me super happy to find it.
But a little part of me thinks that somehow it never existed before and he wrote it after he passed or something.
I don't fucking know.

I think what is creepy about this and the scream and the laugh used on most shows and and movies is that a good percentage of the people who were recorded for those may have already died. So you are hearing essentially the emotional response of a dead person

I remember when this happened, my dad called me and told me to turn on the news cause something big happened. During a car chase two news helicopters crashed into each other while doing a live feed. A few days ago I randomly looked up the video and watched it, kinda freaked me out cause at the :39 second mark as the video feed goes out the audio feed is still playing and you can hear the pilot scream as hes about to hit the ground

my story is more funny than creepy.

so my apartment a few years back was on a pretty busy street at a pretty busy intersection. a lot of people walk around at all hours of the day. about 5 or so friends, my roomate and myself are hanging out in the living room getting stupid high. the living room windows face out towards the street. my friend nick goes to grab the bong or something on the mantle near the window when he freaks out and backs up and has this weird look on his face. he says that he saw a black guy kneeling in the bushes with a creepy smile on his face looking in. he looks again and says that he's still there and gets really creeped out. a few friends go to look and are petrified that this guy is looking in with a eerie smile on his face.

i go to look and see that it is just a marvin gaye record reflecting off the window and show them and they all calm down while i laugh my ass off that they thought marvin gaye was watching us smoke weed in our living room with a smile on his face.

I have some interesting ones when I was living in Cincinnati and when I've visited my family down in Mexico, having to do with shadow people/creatures, the feeling of not being the same era, crazy ass sounds, and such. Hell, where I've moved (vacaville), I've heard and experienced some weird stuff. I'll type them out when I come back.

Well, I have time to type one out.

This when I was living in Cincinnati and occurred very recently. I think it was at the end of last year or the beginning of this year, it was when we first got hit by the horrible snowstorm. So, we getting hit by the snow and it's 12 or 1 in the morning. So in all my infinite wisdom I decided to go on a night drive (I love night drives and I love driving when the weather is completely shitty). To my surprise my car is handling the snowy roads rather well. So, I think it would be great to drive through Buffalo Ridge, which has a big reputation in Cincinnati due to it's "scary past".

For those who don't live in Cincinnati, people see BR as this scary strip of road from there have been sighting of a ghost car following ( Messed gang initiation), an long abandon house that shows signs of people living in there, "satanic" cultists living in the woods, ghost boy left for dead on the road, etc etc etc. Driven through there tons of times, never experienced anything except street signs that looks like someone smeared shit all over them.

SO back to the story, I'm turn into BR and nothing is happening, same old. There's part in the road where it becomes hilly, there something odd happens. Image wise everything just turned very grainy and old, like a colored silent film (not the best description but whatever) and then I get the weirdest feeling in my life. I feel, that I'm in other place or other "reality", like parallel universes and I crossed over to the other. Like transported other than what I was driving and everything felt old. It was like feeling old, I know this sounds weird but that's what I felt and "saw". I made it to the end of the road, it forks and I turned around to see if I would feel that again, nope, felt like another BR drive. Freaked me the fuck out.

Went out to smoke, came back, door was locked from the inside.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_slip#Characteristics

Pretty much what I experienced.

Other stories, I was in Mexico visiting my family, we were having a party (forgot why). My family and I were up late and we decided to stop because we needed sleep and some of my family members have to go to work tomorrow at our family photo studio. They live in a small house and there isn't enough beds for us (my mom, dad, and I). So I opted to sleep on the couch that's located in the middle of my grandma's (the house is hers and most of my family lives there, those who still live in Mexico) hallway. It get's pitch black and deadly silent. There's no sound, not even crickets, it freaks me out but I'm able to fall asleep.

I wake up in the middle of the night and I sense something is wrong. I'm facing the cushions and slightly turn my head to see what's behind and there's someone staring at me. There's a chair in that's in the middle of the hallway facing the couch and there's fucking someone sitting there, staring at me. I lose my shit but I can't show I'm awake. I turn to the cushions and slightly and slowly turn back, motherfucker still there. I pretty scary myself to sleep because if I die, I might as well die in my sleep. I wake up again, thinking it was dream or something. I turn, it's still there, staring. So I work up my courage and turn to face this mother and to my realizing... It's a fan, balloon and other items that have been organized to look like a person...Yeah, it looked like some because of the lighting, shading, the way the items were organized and my slight staring.

Second story, I'm at my parent's house (when I was living in Cincinnati) and I was talking to my Mom, we're both in the hallway. There's a room to my left and right (you'll see why this is important). My mom is freaked out, I ask her why. She say she saw something, like a humanoid shadow in our guest room (the room on my left) not that long ago. It freaked her out and she's been afraid to go there or be in the house by herself. I tell her it's her imagination and she has nothing to worry about. She trusts me and walks away. I turn to my right (or I'm turn to see the room on my right, my room) and I see something on my bed. Think of a shadow person version of Gollum, all hunched over. I see that on my fucking bed but only for a few seconds, it runs and disappears. I stand there, just staring, and I walk away. Couldn't sleep in my room for a while.

Now, I'm living in California, moved to an apartment, nice and comfy place but it's weird. I hear a ton of weird sounds and not that long ago, I heard pound, loud and I mean LOUD pounding sounds coming from my roof.

Also, my one time my girlfriend was staying over (still in California) and I open my door, we about to head out, I'm taking her home. What do I see at the front of my door step, a ripped speaker wire for a computer, just there, like some left there for me. It freaks us out.

I've been waiting FOEVA for this dude to post a story he did on a creepy experience thread before this one where he would be on his computer and there was like a weird closet door behind where his computer was at that would randomly come open all the time and he would feel like someone was watching him. It got a lot creepier than that I'm sure that person will elaborate if he still posts on here but that shit was creepy as fuckkk.

i think that made it here:

Some old drunk hick on a bus when I was 16.
Came and sat by me and my friend, said 'I've got a big one', tempted to get out his dick, so we moved, he followed.
My friend in the end punched him in the head pretty hard.
Guy's known for being a total weirdo alcoholic who hits on boys hahaha!

I know just what you're talking about. I've actually wondered about this before and which movie it originally came from, and it's used just as often if not more than the Wilhelm scream. It comes in around :10 second mark in this video, right?

I think what is creepy about this and the scream and the laugh used on most shows and and movies is that a good percentage of the people who were recorded for those may have already died. So you are hearing essentially the emotional response of a dead person

well fuck, i never even thought about it like that. in that perspective things like that are really weird to think about, if you actually really think about it.

I'm bummed.

ughh those eyes i hate them

These don't scare me, for some reason. It's so obvious there's no such thing it ruins them for me. A product of mass paranoia!

Could it be because these are the eyes of an owl? Not creepy at all.

I wasn't referring to the eyes. Someone wrote an entire paragraph about greys...

I just stumbled across these. Me and my 2 best friends went exploring in the woods in CT. Found this abandoned cabin, I have a pic of the outside I need to find it. It was about a mile back from the road, nothing too creepy I guess, just super weird. The inside was absolutely destroyed as you can see, but the outside was actually in OK condition from what I remember. Like the paint job was still pretty intact, the roof didn't have big holes or anything. If everything inside wasn't in such disarray I'd think somebody still lived there.

last night my wife was reading in our room and heard my 8 year old daughter who should have been sleeping talking. it sounded like she was explaining how to do something to someone. so my wife crept into her room to see and my daughter was at the foot of her bed by her closet still taking but kind of mumbling. when told to go to bed she got a big smile on her face and said that there was a person moving in the closet. then she got up and hopped in bed and fell asleep immediately. my wife was creeped out. largely due to the expression on her face and because she didn't even seem to be sleeping. but my daughter has zero memory of it today.

last week i heard her mumbling and found her underneath the mattress with her head sticking out. she has some serious sleeping issues. i do the same stuff all the time so i feel bad that she must have gotten it from me.

i used to do similar stuff as a kid. a lot of kids do & parents chalk it up as "imaginary friends" or whatever. I honestly think that children are more likely to have "paranormal experiences" than adults. During childhood, a kid is more likely to be open minded & fear less of the "unknown" because they are still learning & taking everything in. The whole "innocence" thing comes into play. they are not blocking anything out, they acknowledge everything that goes on around them. Have you ever noticed if your daughter says things she has never been taught or talks about people or things she has never been introduced to? Adults build a fear of the "unknown". They are more likely to ignore anything creepy & block their intuition for those "unknown" / "paranomal" experiences. If you close your mind & are not open to those sorts of things, chances are they wont happen to you ever & you will be a non believer. Or if they do happen, you will make up whatever excuse possible to void it out based on the fear you have already enabled yourself to have & not wanting to admit it because it freaks you out enough.

recently a customer of mine came to pay his bill at my office & i asked what he did for a living because i knew he worked with police & traveled a lot. turns out he is a "paranormal investigator". Police pay for him to work on cases they have not been able to close or missing victims/murder etc. the vast majority is murder cases though. dude gets paid very well for it too & has helped solve cases all over. after discussing how police question & invite him onto a case & how he proves himself to alot of skeptics i questioned his opinion on children & paranormal vs adults & paranormal. he basically agreed with me on what i mentioned above. he also said that EVERYONE has an intuition to experience certain things but the vast majority like i said block it out after a certain age & live life that way loosing touch with it.

who knows though eh?

SuchHawksSuchHounds, what part of Cincinnati did you live in? I heard rumors about that Buffalo Ridge place, but whenever I would visit out there, I was too scared to see what's up with it. After hearing you're story, I'm glad I didn't.

can anyone recommend any books on Satanic Cults at all? I'm very interested in the history as well as the present so any book recommendations would be super! I live in the UK and we have none but I'm willing to buy from any bookstores in the US.

"Cults That Kill" is pretty good book on satanic cults. It's mostly from a law enforcement perspective.

Thanks for the recommendations SuchHawksSuchHounds and Robot Blood. All three books sound pretty good, still on the lurch for more and then I might order a big load from the US.
